Based in York, The Vitula Quartet is a professional string quartet available for weddings, events and session recording. Our repertoire is extensive and varied, ranging from traditional classical music to modern hits, encompassing everything from Vivaldi to Van Halen and Pirates of the Caribbean to Lady Gaga (see more on our Repertoire page).

The Vitula Quartet are Nick and Hannah on violin, Sarah on viola and Jess on cello. We are all professional, freelance musicians.

The string quartet has long been linked with traditional classical music, but The Vitula Quartet formed with the idea of making the string quartet relevant to the 21st century. As well as being performers, members of the Vitula Quartet are also keen arrangers. We have written many of our own arrangements, including music by REM , The Killers, Coldplay, Daft Punk, Macklemore and Rolling Stones, as well as the theme music from Downton Abbey and Game of Thrones.
